Free to Feed Northcote
Description:
The fabulous people at Free to Feed are a not-for-profit social enterprise empowering refugees, people seeking asylum and new migrants through food-oriented initiatives. We were approached to design a flexible space which celebrated the communal and ever evolving nature of Free to Feed. The budget was small but the ideas were big. To minimise labour costs and wastage, furniture and joinery cut wholly from standard sheets. The space can be packed away completely, or configured in a range of different ways. To bring power to the central space, GPO's are installed in the beautiful pendants generously donated by Anchor Ceramics. A mural from the talented Spencer Harrison brightens the space.
This project won a Community Commendation at the 2018 Architeam Awards.
